Ailwyn School

Ailwyn School is a secondary school which when inspected in October 2004 was judged to require special measures. This was because it was failing to provide a satisfactory education for its pupils.

The school shares technology college status with the Ramsey Abbey School, the upper school. There are 908 pupils on roll and it is a mixed 11-14 school. Prior attainment on entry is above average and there is little pupil mobility. The school is less deprived than those nationally. Ailwyn will close at the end of the academic year and amalgamate with the Ramsey Abbey School.
